And then in late 2007 we went to northern Vietnam and southern China to look at the traditional costumes still worn by the ethnic minority groups there. Fascinating use of traditional dyes, including pig’s blood, and highly-skilled textile techniques mingled nicely with modern fabrics and lurid colours!
