Postcards
from Alaska
Our 2007 trip to Alaska to see the glaciers bore stitching fruit much more rapidly and formed the basis for my 2008 solo show (also at the
Fountain
Gallery). The scale and colours of these ice giants are indeed awesome, as is the amount of noise they make as they shift and crack! So it is colour, size and the extraordinary shapes they form that I have tried to capture in these pieces. The cold clear surroundings also suggested a different way of hanging this work and many of the pieces are presented in crystal clear acrylic frames giving much more direct access to the work. |
